National Herald Case: Court sent notice to Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Sam Pitroda, next hearing on 8 May

News India Live, Digital Desk: A Delhi court has issued notice to Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Sam Pitroda in the National Herald Money Laundering case. Special Judge Vishal Gogane has fixed May 8 for the next hearing of the case. The court said that at the time of taking cognizance of the charge sheet, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi have the right to present their case, which is the basic principle of fair hearing.

The case has been investigated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The ED recently filed a charge sheet in the case. The case began on the basis of a complaint lodged by BJP leader Subramanian Swamy in 2014, allegedly alleged to incorrectly acquire more than Rs 2,000 crore properties and refine money.

The ED has reported in its report that Congress leaders, including Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, have also misused the assets of Associated Journal Limited (AJL), besides the Congress leaders, Rahul Gandhi, and the private company Young Indian. Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi have 38-38 percent shares of Young Indian Company.
