Raipur, 25 November (HS). The National Assessment Survey 2024 proposed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) will be conducted across the country on December 4 this year. This time it has been named Parakh (Performance Appraisal, Review and Analysis of Knowledge for Overall Development). The objective of the survey is to evaluate the overall academic performance of children and to establish criteria related to evaluation of students under the National Education Policy 2020.
This time the survey will focus on students of classes 3, 6 and 9, based on the competencies acquired in their previous classes. Questions in the exam will be in multiple choice format through OMR sheets. This survey will not only assess the efficiency of children but will also play an important role in the educational ranking of the states.
Opportunity to improve state ranking
For states that stood last in the previous NAS 2021 results, the survey provides an opportunity to improve their ranking. The state rankings are used in various educational schemes. In such a situation, this time the effort of all the states is to strengthen their position in the educational ranking by performing better in the survey.
Efforts to improve the education system
The objective of the test is to holistically evaluate the academic performance of the students. This is an important step towards setting standards and guidelines related to assessment of students under the National Education Policy. Competency based questions will be asked in this survey, which will be answered in multiple choice format through OMR sheets and students are being given special training to practice OMR sheets.
Impact of National Education Policy
Parakh is an important step in line with the goals of the National Education Policy 2020. It moves away from traditional education methods and emphasizes on holistic development of students and in-depth analysis of their knowledge.
Appeal for training and guidance
To ensure the success of the survey, an appeal has been made to the teachers and school administration to make the students practice as much as possible. This will not only enhance the competencies of the children but will also ensure improvement in the ranking of the state. National Assessment Survey 2024 is an important step towards reforms in the education sector. This will create a strong foundation for promoting the competencies as well as the quality of education of the students.
