Nashik MP Rajabhau Waje Pushes Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil For ‘Namami Goda’ Project; Expects ₹2,700 Crore In Funds | X/@RajabhauW

Nashik MP Rajabhau Waje is taking several steps to make Godavari pollution-free. In this regard, Waje met Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil and demanded to promote the ‘Namami Goda’ project. An estimated cost of Rs 2,700 crore is expected for this project. This project includes many things like reviving the Godavari River on the lines of ‘Namami Gange,’ setting up an STP in Nashik city and taking measures to prevent industrial pollution.

Waje has been fighting for making Godavari pollution-free for the last few months. Be it raising questions in Parliament or constantly following up with Union Ministers, Secretaries, etc. In this regard, he also met Union Water Resources Minister CR Patil. He expressed concern about the pathetic state of pollution of the Godavari River. In view of the upcoming Simhastha Kumbh Mela, Waje demanded that the proposed ‘Namami Goda’ project be given an immediate boost by the Central Government and a large amount of funds should be made available for it.

Demand for time for the meeting

At this time, Waje has requested CR Patil to hold a meeting with a delegation of people’s representatives, senior administrative officers, etc. from Nashik to discuss the ‘Namami Goda’ project. Patil has shown a positive view in this regard. Meanwhile, the time for this meeting is likely to be after the Lok Sabha budget session.

Discussion in Marathi

Although Patil is from the state of Gujarat, his birthplace is Jalgaon district in Maharashtra. When Waje went to meet Patil, when he asked in which language he should communicate, Patil started the conversation in fluent Marathi. It will be interesting to see whether the Marathi language is a link to get immediate approval for the Namami Goda project.
