Nashik MP Rajabhau Waje Demands Rs 245 Crore Disbursement For Shabari Yojana To Boost Tribal Development |
While speaking in Zero Hour in Parliament, Nashik Member of Parliament Rajabhau Waje demanded the disbursement of Rs 245 crore fund for the Shabari Scheme for Tribal Development. Shabari Yojana is an important scheme launched by the Government of Maharashtra to promote the economic development of tribal communities. The Central and State governments contribute to this scheme.
Waje said in Parliament, “Many schemes are implemented in the country and the state to bring the tribal community into the mainstream and provide them with equal development opportunities. However, due to implementation and administrative apathy, these schemes do not reach the beneficiaries. Also, schemes are implemented in the state from the combined funds of the Centre and the state. However, funds with the Central Government are stuck in the red tape of the Centre, and the benefits of the scheme do not reach the beneficiaries. The funds should be disbursed on priority.”
“Along with this, for the development and empowerment of tribals, Maharashtra State Cooperative Development Corporation Adivasi Ltd provides funds of Rs 200 crore through the scheme implemented by Shabari. It should be increased to Rs 500 crore,” added Waje, as he demanded that this fund be increased, as it seems that the objective is not being achieved with the current fund.
