Bollywood actress Nargis Fakhri’s sister, Aliya Fakhri, 43, was arrested in Queens, New York, for killing her ex-boyfriend, Edward Jacobs, 35, and his new female friend, Anastasia ‘Star’ Ettienne, 33. In a fit of jealousy, Aliya reportedly set a two-storey garage on fire, resulting in the deaths of both victims, according to The Daily News.
District Attorney Melinda Katz said in a statement, “This defendant maliciously ended the lives of two people by setting a fire that trapped a man and woman in a raging inferno. The victims tragically died from smoke inhalation and thermal injuries.”
While Nargis is yet to react to the news, the actress’ mother defended Aliya and said, “I don’t think she would be killing someone. She was a person who was caring for everybody. She tried to help everybody.”
Further, Fakhri’s mother revealed that Aliya’s behaviour was influenced by the addition of opioids following a dental mishap.
