The objective of this scheme?

Empowered women help in the development of the nation and NaMo Drone Didi Scheme aims to empower women with resources and training. The central government will provide 15,000 drones to women self-help groups (SHGs), which will enable them to become economically independent and support their livelihoods. However, they will get drones within three years. These plans also expand and strengthen the use of drones in the agriculture industry. Women from self-help groups can rent drones to farmers, which will help them get rid of over- and under-spraying and protect themselves from pesticides. Apart from this, women will also get training in flying drones and employment opportunities will also be created.

The scheme aims to make women economically independent, so women in self-help groups will get extensive training and access to technology to operate drones. They will receive piloting, operations and maintenance training including practical and theoretical knowledge. Women will be motivated to fly drones and gain practical experience in agriculture programmes.

Women of self-help groups will get 15,000 drones in two years, which they will be able to earn money by renting. Self-help groups can avail of these schemes to set up various drone businesses, such as crop spraying, precision agriculture, field mapping and data collection.
