A significant progress related to Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Rapid Rail Corridor (Namo India) has come to light. NCRTC has completed construction of the Receiving Sub-Station (RSS) near Sarai Kale Khan station and its testing is going on. This power station will be the main power junction of the three corridors of Namo Bharat Phase-1, from where electricity will be supplied to the entire network.
Three transformers active, one will remain in backup

This RSS has arranged power supply of 66 KV, for which Delhi Transco Limited and Gas Turbine Power Station (GTPS) have been compromised.

33 KV will be supplied for the power needs of the station complex

In this power station:

Two transformers of 66/33 KV

Two transformers of 66/25 KV have been installed

Three of these transformers will remain active and will be used as a backup.

Keeping in mind the future needs, two and 66/25 KV transformers will also be installed.
Four out of five RSS ready
This power station built near Sarai Kale Khan station will meet the technical needs of train operations on time.

This station is a major achievement for the first phase of rapid rail operation from Sarai Kale Khan to Meerut.

Four of the five power stations (RSS) being built in this section have been fully prepared.

These stations are: Sarai Kale Khan, Ghaziabad, Muradnagar, Shatabdi Nagar and Modipuram.
Use of environmentally friendly technology
All the RSS being built by NCRTC is designed on the standards of the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC).
These include:

Sewage treatment plant

Use of LED lighting and natural lights

Solar power panel
-
Windy building and green sector
The aim of NCRTC is not only speed and reliability, but also to make the project environment-sensitive and energy-efficient.

Where is the operation started?

Currently, Namo Bharat trains have started operating in a 55 km section from New Ashok Nagar to Meerut South.

Now trains will start running from New Ashok Nagar to Sarai Kale Khan soon.

A target has been set to start rapid rail operations on the entire 82 km corridor by 2025.
