Ranchi, 18 November (HS). Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar, while highlighting the historical and glorious role of Nalanda University, said that this university illuminated the entire world with the light of knowledge in ancient India. The rays of knowledge spread from here still inspire our society and culture.

He said these things while addressing the closing ceremony of ‘Nalanda Gyan Kumbh’ org.zed by Education Culture Upliftment Trust at Nalanda University, Rajgir on Monday. On this occasion, he expressed his views on ‘Indian knowledge tradition and role of Indian languages’ in the context of ‘Developed India 2047’.

Underlining the importance of Indian knowledge tradition, Governor Shri Gangwar said that Indian knowledge tradition has encouraged not only India but the entire world for centuries. Classical heritages like Vedas, Up.shads, Ayurveda, Mathematics, Astronomy and Yoga are still helpful in our spiritual and intellectual development. This knowledge tradition has given life to India’s education system and social values, which have a positive impact on every level of the society.

Highlighting the role of Indian languages, the Governor said that our languages ​​are symbols of our cultural identity. Indian languages ​​like Sanskrit, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada contain our ancient texts and literature, which keep our thinking and traditions alive. Education in mother tongue boosts self-confidence of students and provides them an opportunity to compete at the global level.

He said that giving priority to education in mother tongue by the National Education Policy 2020 is an important step to connect students with their roots and provide modern education with self-reliance. The Governor also discussed issues related to cyber security. He said that in today’s digital era, cyber crime has become a serious challenge. This puts individuals’ savings at risk. To deal with this challenge, cyber security measures should be thoroughly considered.

On this occasion, the Governor appreciated the innovations and research work related to Indian knowledge tradition displayed during Gyan Kumbh. He said that this is a commendable effort to bring the rich stream of Indian culture and education to the people.

On this occasion, the Governor called upon everyone to actively participate in ‘Developed India 2047’ and play their role in making India a world leader again. He said that everyone should resolve to build an India where Indian ideas, science, technology and culture achieve excellence at the global level.
