Jammu and Kashmir health crisis: A shocking case has come to light from Rajouri in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. So far, 14 people have died in the last 30 days due to a mysterious disease in Sablal village of Rajouri. The dead included 11 children and three adults from three families. Due to this incident, there is panic among the people of Sabal village and surrounding areas. The government has deployed health teams to investigate the matter.

One death after another spread a state of fear

According to the information, Safina Kausar died in a hospital in Jammu. Then within two days his remaining three brothers and sisters also died. Two people are still fighting with death. On Monday, his grandfather Mohammad Rafiq died in a hospital in Rajouri. Earlier last month, nine people from two families had died in the village. Initially it seemed that the deaths were due to food poisoning. However, the situation was considered serious as most of the villagers complained of similar symptoms. After this the government intervened in the matter and experts were called from many health institutions of the country.

 

What do doctors say?

A doctor at the Government Medical College Hospital, Jammu, said that as per preliminary investigation, the cause of the mysterious death was a viral infection. However, the doctor also said that further study is needed to reach the final conclusion. A team of experts from National Institute of Virology, Pune, PGI Chandigarh, AIIMS Delhi and National Center for Disease Control (NCDC), Delhi, has also visited the village to help investigate the case.
