The migration of Rohingya Muslims from Myanmar has become a cause of trouble for all the neighboring countries. Recently, most of the Rakhine state has been captured by the rebel group Arakan Army, due to which once again about 60 thousand Rohingya Muslims have been forced to leave the country and take refuge in the neighboring country.
The increasing conflict between the junta military government in Myanmar and the rebel Arakan Army has once again forced a large number of Rohingya Muslims to flee. Due to this conflict, once again a large number of Rohingya Muslims have had to flee the country. Bangladesh officials said on Sunday that about 60,000 Rohingya have taken refuge in Bangladesh’s Cox’s Bazar district due to the escalating conflict in Myanmar, most of them Rohingya Muslims who fled Myanmar during a military crackdown in Bangladesh in 2017.
An important seat of Myanmar’s neighboring countries
The influx of Rohingya has also led to an increase in corruption along the Bangladesh-Myanmar border, with some people taking money to help Rohingya cross the border. Speaking to the media, Mohammad Tauheed Hussain, Advisor on Foreign Affairs in Bangladesh, informed about his visit to Bangkok, where an informal consultation meeting was held between Laos, Thailand, India, China, Myanmar and Bangladesh.
60 thousand Rohingya took refuge in Bangladesh
In Dhaka, Tauheed Hussain said that our position on the Myanmar issue is that we cannot allow more Rohingya refugees to come, although sometimes the situation becomes such that we cannot do much about it. It is under such circumstances that we have allowed about 60 thousand Rohingya refugees to come to Bangladesh, although we have not officially invited them to Bangladesh, rather they have reached here through various routes.
Myanmar-neighboring countries find solution through dialogue
A meeting was held last week under the chairmanship of the Foreign Minister of Thailand on the situation in Myanmar. The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Myanmar also participated in this meeting. According to Bangladesh Foreign Affairs Advisor Tauheed Hossain, all neighboring countries of Myanmar now see no possibility of Rohingyas returning to Myanmar. However, he said all countries participating in the meeting have appealed to Myanmar to resolve its internal problems through dialogue with all parties.
Arakan Army captured Bangladesh border
The rebel group Arakan Army has captured most of Rakhine state, bordering Bangladesh. Bangladesh says talks with rebel groups are not possible on issues related to the border and Rohingya refugees. Therefore, he has appealed to the junta government of Myanmar for help in finding a solution to this problem.
