Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): All the local places of tourist interest witnessed huge crowds on Wednesday – the first day of New Year. From museums to picnic spots to temples to Lake View and VIP Roads, there was not an inch of space as people turned out in large numbers to celebrate the advent of 2025.
Manuabhan Ki Tekri, Van Vihar, Sair Sapata, Birla Mandir, Gufa Mandir, Tribal Museum, State Museum and Indira Gandhi Manav Sangrahalaya were full of people. Families enjoyed boating in Upper Lake and kids took a ride on the toy train at Sair Sapata.
Despite the cold, the sunny weather and light breeze made the weather pleasant enough for people to venture out. They thronged the places with their family members and friends. People sought blessings for a happy, healthy and prosperous 2025 at temples and churches in the city. They captured photographs to make the day memorable.
Traffic jams were visible at many places, especially the road leading from Polytechnic Square to CM House, which is an approach to Boat Club, Tribal Museum, IGRMS, Van Vihar and State Museum. “Over 1,000 people visited museum on Wednesday,” said the person manning the ticket counter at Tribal Museum. A police official who managed traffic at Polytechnic Square said jam-like situation was due to New Year celebrations.
