Mumbai: A Mumbai resident highlighted the garbage pile-up issue in the corner of Senapati Bapat Marg & Bhagoji Keer Marg in Mahim on his X page. The post was made by the account (@mumbaimatterz) on Tuesday. The user also pointed out the illegal nursery on the footpath and criticized the policy of Mumbai Beautification.

In the X post user elaborated the issue by saying that this is the latest one at the Senapati Bapat Marg & Bhagoji Keer Marg in Mahim. User also marked that the BMC cleared space for the nursery by removing the Community Garbage bin from the footpath with now all garbage on the road corner.

The user pointed out that after the BMC cleared the space for a nursery and removed the garbage bin from the road, the waste had accumulated on the footpath. In response to the post by user, the BMC acknowledged the issue, stating, “We have conveyed your complaint to the concerned department.”

BMC recently responded to a user’s complaint by addressing the issue and shared a picture of the cleaned roads on Senapati Bapat Marg & Bhagoji Keer Marg in Mahim.

Some suggested that there should be a thorough investigation into the citizenship of nursery owners, pointing out that in just five years, the number of nurseries has increased tenfold across Mumbai, Thane, Virar, Vasai, Bhayander, and even along highways.

Many of these nurseries, according to users, have illegally occupied public spaces. On a more constructive note, one user proposed that Mumbai is ideal place for startups dealing in waste management.
