Mumbai Police Tracks Down Helmetless Woman Who Hit Kandivali Man While Riding Wrong Side | X/@jayantgajria
Mumbai: An elderly man was severely injured after being struck by a speeding two-wheeler in Kandivali East on November 30. The victim’s son, Jayant Gajria, turned to social media platform X to demand justice for his 74-year-old father, who suffered a broken leg requiring surgery. Gajria shared details of the incident and a photo of the alleged offender, a woman riding a scooter without a helmet.
In a recent update on December 4, Gajria confirmed that the Samta Nagar police had tracked down the accused woman. He expressed gratitude to the Mumbai Traffic Police and the local police for their swift action. “Kudos to @MTPHereToHelp @MumbaiPolice @CPMumbaiPolice Samta Nagar Police for tracking her out. Law will take its own course now. Dad was operated successfully yesterday,” he wrote.
Gajria initially voiced his frustration on X a day after the accident, stating, “My dad was hit by a speeding two-wheeler yesterday. The rider, a lady, sped off without helping him. A case of hit-and-run has been registered. Dad’s leg bone is broken and will be operated on Tuesday. Be it a lady or a guy, this two-wheeler menace is getting out of hand.”
Providing further details, Gajria explained that the accident occurred at 3 pm near Narayan Dairy, outside Vasant Pride Building in Thakur Complex. He highlighted the challenges in identifying the offender due to the lack of CCTV footage. The woman was riding on the wrong side of the road and quickly fled the scene.
“No helmet, driving on the wrong side of the road, ran away after hitting my father… not a single CCTV in the area captured the bike’s number. I hope Mumbai Police can trace her soon,” Gajria added, tagging the Mumbai Traffic Police and urging prompt action.
The incident gained traction on social media, prompting a response from the authorities. While the police have located the accused, Gajria and others await further action to ensure justice is served.
