The Save Rani Bagh Botanical Garden Foundation, in association with the BMC and NAGAR, a non-governmental organisation, will launch ‘Mumbai Botanical Garden and Zoo’ mobile application tomorrow (December 16).

The app will be launched in the presence of DM Sukhtankar, former chief secretary of Maharashtra, Dr Pheroza Godrez, an art historian, and Dr Sanjay Tripathi, director of Byculla Zoo.

The app will work as a pathfinder and guide for the botanical garden and zoo. It will be free and will not carry any ads.

“The app is for public education and enjoyment. It will help the visitors to explore, discover and navigate the hidden nuggets of Rani Baug,” Hutokshi Rustomfram from the Save Rani Bagh Foundation said.

“Navigating your way from around 4 kilometres network of pathways and finding a tree of your choice from over 4,000 trees of 256 species is not easy. The app acts as your personal guide,” the invitation for the app launch said.
