During 11-12.02.2025, the officers of CSMI Airport, Mumbai, seized 5.92 Kg Gold and 2147.20 carats Diamonds valued at Rs. 9.12 Crores . Gold was found concealed in belt buckle, trolley bag and undergarments worn by the passengers whereas Diamonds were concealed inside the laptop which was kept in the trolley bag of the passenger.

01 Passenger was arrested.

*Highlights of some significant cases:*

*Case 1: (11.02.2025)*

During routine frisking and scanning procedure, CISF (Mumbai) found suspicious objects inside the laptop of a passenger who was flying to Bangkok from Mumbai by NOK flight No. DD-939. The individual was promptly handed over to the Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) at CSMIA. Upon thorough examination the Customs officers recovered 2147.20 carats Diamonds valued at Rs.4,93,05,850/-. The passenger was arrested.

*Case 2: (12.02.2025)*

03 Passengers, who had arrived from Dubai to Mumbai by EK-500 were intercepted and 24 KT Crude Gold Rhodium Plated Rings and Buttons having net weight of 775.000 grams valued at Rs.61,45,347 /- ( Rupees Sixty One Lakh Forty Five Thousand Three Hundred Forty Seven Rupees only)” were recovered. The said gold was concealed in the belt buckle and trolley bag carried by the passengers.

*Case 3: (12.02.2025)*

On 12.02.2025, on the basis of profiling and input received, 14 Kenyan Nationals, who had arrived from Nairobi to Mumbai were intercepted and 22 KT melted gold bars and jewellery weighing 2741grams valued at Rs. 1.85 Crores were recovered.

The above recovered Gold bars and jewellery were concealed in the undergarments and in the pockets of the clothes worn by the passengers. Apart from this unclaimed 22 KT melted gold bars having net weight of 2406.000 Grams valued at 1.74 Crore was found lying on the floor in the international Arrival hall.
