Pune: MTDC to Host Full Everesting Event at Sinhagad Fort from December 13-15 | AIR

The Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC), in association with ‘Simple Steps Fitness Institute,’ has organized an event at Sinhagad Fort between December 13 and 15, named Full Everesting. In this event, participants can climb Sinhagad and gain the elevation of Mt. Everest (8,848 m) by doing 16 continuous repeats of the defined route, either by walk or run, from the start point to the end point.

The entire route is approximately 125 km and will be flagged off on December 13 at 6 pm. During the event, participants need to ascend the route to gain elevation and will be brought down to the start point by road transport provided by the organizers.

The competition will be held in two sections at Sinhagad. One section requires participants to climb the fort sixteen times, while the other section requires eight climbs. Competitors can participate in groups or individually. For beginners, a fun run/walk option is also available.

In this option, competitors will climb Sinhagad once on the night of the full moon, December 14. The climb will be via the ghat road, and therefore, the Sinhagad ghat road will be completely closed for traffic during the competition period.
