Former India & CSK captain MS Dhoni always has a unique way of revealing his future plans. Back in 2020, he surprised everyone by announcing his international retirement on Instagram on Independence Day. Now, ahead of IPL 2025, he seems to have dropped another hint about his future.
As Dhoni arrived in Chennai on Wednesday for CSK’s pre-season camp, he was spotted wearing a t-shirt with a special message. Written in Morse code, it appeared to say “One last time”, sparking speculation that this could be his final IPL season.
Dhoni’s performance in IPL 2024
In IPL 2024, Dhoni played all 14 matches for CSK, scoring 161 runs at a stunning strike rate of 220. Despite batting lower down the order, he made valuable cameos and continued as the team’s wicketkeeper.
CSK retained him as an uncapped player before last year’s mega auction, and his decision to play another season may have been influenced by the team’s narrow miss in making the playoffs in 2024.
Chennai Super Kings will face Mumbai Indians
CSK will kick off their IPL 2025 campaign against arch-rivals Mumbai Indians in Chennai on March 22, a day after the tournament opener between KKR and RCB in Kolkata.
