Chennai Super Kings’ star MS Dhoni was felicitated by the Assam Cricket Association ahead of their IPL 2025 match against the Rajasthan Royals on March 30, Sunday in Guwahati. The keeper-batter was felicitated at the Baraspara Cricket Stadium as he completed 18 years in IPL, with the venue packed to see the legendary cricketer in action.
Of all the venues in India, Guwahati was the only one that the 43-year-old was yet to play an IPL fixture in. It will also be the last IPL game this season in Guwahati, which has been an adopted home ground for the Royals in IPL 2025, apart from their usual Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Earlier, Dhoni was greeted by a sea of fans in Guwahati as the Super Kings gear up for an all-important game on Sunday. Fans in Guwahati could also see the former Super Kings skipper in action early as their captain Ruturaj Gaikwad has opted to bat first after winning the toss.
