MPSC Students Demand Immediate Announcement Of Provisional Merit List For 2023 Rajyaseva Exam |

Pune: The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) released the merit list of the State Service Examination 2023 on September 26, 2024. Following this, the preference filling process took place between March 11 and March 18, 2025. However, even after more than a month since the completion of that process, the provisional merit list is yet to be announced, leading to growing frustration among aspirants.

This examination was a crucial opportunity for thousands of candidates across Maharashtra. But repeated delays in each stage of the process — from the advertisement being published on February 24, 2023, to the current hold-up — have left many students disappointed and anxious about their future.

At present, the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has completed key stages of the State Service Examination 2023 process, including the release of the merit list and the submission of candidate preferences. However, crucial steps such as the provisional selection list, the opt-out process, and the final selection or recommendation list remain pending. The continued delay in these stages has caused growing anxiety among candidates who are eagerly awaiting the final outcome.

Several candidates, who had either resigned from their jobs or were facing financial hardships, had pinned their hopes on this examination. The prolonged uncertainty has now pushed many into mental stress and emotional distress.

Students are demanding that the commission immediately announce the list and bring clarity to the situation. They have also urged the MPSC to set a clear and time-bound schedule for the remaining stages to prevent further delays and to restore faith in the system.

Besides, MPSC aspirants organised a statewide protest on Wednesday (16-04-2025) demanding a 45-day extension for the upcoming State Services Mains exam scheduled for April 26, 27 and 28.

The candidates claimed that the time frame between the declaration of the Prelims exam results on March 12, which were then revised on March 29, and the application deadline of April 9 for the Mains was marred by technical glitches in the portal, adding to their stress.

The protesting students have also demanded the reinstatement of original Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) vacancies.
