Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The four-day-long protest by MPPSC candidates concluded early Sunday morning in Indore. Later in the afternoon, a delegation of candidates met Chief Minister Mohan Yadav in Bhopal to present their demands.
It ended on Sunday morning at around 5 am and then they had a meeting with Chief Minister Mohan Yadav in Bhopal. The students, who had been demanding action on the issues, submitted a memorandum outlining their concerns during the meeting.
Around 2,000 students had been part of the protest, and two candidates had gone on an indefinite hunger strike. After discussions with Collector Ashish Singh and other officials late Saturday night, the students were assured that their demands would be addressed, with some issues still pending in court.
In the meeting with the Chief Minister, the candidates explained their problems, and CM Yadav assured them of appropriate action.
With this assurance, the students ended their protest and peacefully left the protest site, ending nearly 89 hours of demonstration. The students are now hopeful that the remaining issues will be resolved soon.
The demands of the MPPSC candidates are as follows:
Display of Mains Exam Copies from 2019 – The answer sheets of the 2019 MPPSC Mains exam should be shown, and mark sheets should be issued.
Notification for 2025 MPPSC Exams – A notification should be released for the 2025 MPPSC exams, with 700 posts for State Service and 100 posts for Forest Service.
Result of 2023 State Service Mains Exam – The results of the 2023 State Service Mains exam should be released.
Abolition of 87/13 Formula – The 87/13 formula should be revoked, and all results should be declared based on 100%.
Assistant Professor Interviews (2022) – Interviews for all subjects in the 2022 Assistant Professor recruitment should be held within three months, and the final selection process should be completed promptly.
Increase SET Qualifications – The MP Eligibility Test (SET) should qualify 15% of candidates instead of the current 6%.
Advertisement for Various Posts – Advertisements should be issued for over 100 posts of Assistant Director (Agriculture) and Extension Officer, and over 450 posts of Assistant Engineer (Civil).
Pending ITI Principal Interviews – The interviews for ITI Principal posts, which have been pending for a year, should be held as soon as possible.
