Umaria (Madhya Pradesh): A shocking case of murder was reported from Madhya Pradesh’s Umaria district, where a man killed his sister-in-law and buried her body in the forest, as reported by police on Sunday.
Additionally, the murder was accidentally uncovered with the help of wild animals. The incident came to light when wild animals followed the foul smell and dug up the soil, exposing the woman’s hand.
According to information, the crime took place in Semriha village of Umaria district.
After the hand was dug out, villagers spotted it and immediately informed the police. With permission from SDM Ambikesh Pratap Singh, police dug up the area and recovered the body.
Murder over property dispute
According to SDOP Pali Shivcharan Bohit, the victim was identified as 40-year-old Meena Singh Gaun. Investigation revealed that her brother-in-law, Chintamani Gaun, had killed her during a property dispute. He, along with his father, Ramvilas Gaun, buried the body to hide the crime.
Police have arrested Chintamani Gaun, his father Ramvilas Gaun, and Chintamani’s wife, Madhu Gaun. All three are being questioned, and a case has been registered against them under sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), informed Nowrozabad Police Station in-charge Rajeshchandra Mishra.
