MP Horror! 50-Year-Old Farmer Falls Prey To Tigress While Preparing Nursery For Rabi Paddy Crop In Balaghat | Representative Image
Balaghat (Madhya Pradesh): In a tragic incident, a 50-year-old farmer lost and fell prey to a tigress and her cub in Khairlanji village of Madhya Pradesh’s Balaghat district on Sunday. It is said that the farmer was attacked by the big cat while he was in his farm, preparing a nursery for the Rabi paddy crop.
According to information, the victim has been identified as Sukhram Mukka Uike (50). The incident occurred around 4 pm under Tirodi police station jurisdiction, when Uike had gone to his field.
Tigress partially consumed victim’s body
Sukhram’s field is located about one kilometer away in Silari village of Seoni district, to prepare a nursery for the Rabi paddy crop. Around 9 am, while he was plowing the field, the tigress suddenly appeared with her cub.
Witnessing the tigress, the bulls pulling the plow broke free and fled. This is when the tigress attacked Sukhram. She dragged him into a nearby sugarcane field. She partially consumed his body.
Incident angered the villagers
After the horrific incident, locals expressed their anger. They stated that the tigress, along with her cub had been roaming the Khairlanji area for two days.
The tigress had earlier entered a house and injured a cattle. Villagers want the tigress and her cub to be driven away. They also accused the forest department of negligence. They claimed that instead of patrolling effectively, the department has only provided firecrackers to scare away the animal.
Sukhram is survived by his wife, one son, and three daughters.
