Sagar (Madhya Pradesh): Chief Minister Mohan Yadav attended the Kisan Sammelan on Friday during the three-day Rahas Mela in Gadhakota, Sagar, where he announced significant benefits for farmers.
During public addressing CM Mohan Yadav said that the government will now purchase wheat from farmers at Rs 2600 per quintal, with plans to increase this price to Rs 2700 per quintal next year.
Additionally, a bonus of Rs 2000 per hectare will be provided for rice, and similar incentives for milk producers will be introduced.
CM Yadav emphasized the government’s continuous efforts to improve farmers’ livelihoods and promised the irrigation of Bundelkhand’s lands in the coming years. He also confirmed the development of a four-lane road between Sagar and Damoh.
Addressing the gathering, MLA and former minister Gopal Bhargava highlighted the importance of the Rahas Mela, a 220-year-old fair, and assured that its legacy would continue, regardless of his presence. He praised the Madhya Pradesh government’s support for the fair’s growth.
Minister Aindl Singh Kansana and Damoh MP Rahul Singh also expressed their support for ongoing initiatives aimed at boosting farmers’ income and industrial development in the region.
The event saw participation from several officials, including MPs, local leaders, and the general public. Chief Minister Dr Yadav concluded the event by distributing benefits under various government schemes to five beneficiaries.
