A viral poster referring to the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela claimed people could now take a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam without travelling to the crowded streets of Prayagraj. But how? The ad claimed someone else would bathe on behalf of people unable to attend the celebration.
The poster suggested people could comfortably sit at their homes and seek the blessings of taking the holy dip at Maha Kumbh 2025.

“Send us your photo, we’ll dip it in holy waters”
While the authenticity of this claim was questionable, the message conveyed about someone offering devotees unable to personally visit Prayagraj a chance to soak themselves in the auspiciousness right from their homes. The person offered a “Dip From Home” facility”, which instantly gathered widespread attention on the internet.
The image advertised the unconventional service for a cost of Rs. 500.
It asked interested people to send them her photo, which would be dipped at Triveni Sangam.
“Send us your photo, WhatsApp. We’ll take a photocopy of your photo & we’ll take a dip in the holy waters with your photo”, the ad poster read.
The poster pointed out the viral and debated claim of this Kumbh being a 144-year celebration. “A once in 144 years opportunity! This is your last chance for the divine Mahakumbh snan. Don’t miss it”, it read.
