Furious after her daughter went missing for over a month, a mother tried to burn herself by pouring diesel on her body in the premises of a police station in Beed’s Kej.
As per the report by Sakal, the woman took the extreme step of pouring diesel on herself in front of police officers and staff at the Yusuf Wadgaon police station.
The incident was captured on camera by those present.
This marked another incident related to the law and order situation in Beed district.
Law and order in Beed
Beed, a central Maharashtra district, has been in the news for the last more than three months following the brutal murder of Sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh.
Santosh Deshmukh, the Sarpanch of Massajog village in Beed district, was kidnapped and tortured to death in December last year, allegedly for thwarting attempts to extort money from a windmill company.
NCP leader Dhananjay Munde, who hails from Beed district, resigned as Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Protection Minister on March 4 after a Criminal Investigation Department (CID) chargesheet in the Sarpanch murder case named his key aide Walmik Karad as the “mastermind” of the brutal killing.
