Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Lokayukta sleuths have found two boxes filled with small broken locks, other than cash during raids on the residential premises of Chetan Gour on Thursday, officials said here on Sunday.
The sleuths of special police establishment (SPE) Lokayukta Bhopal have seized valuables and cash amounting to Rs 8 crore, from two houses of former RTO constable Sourabh Sharma and his aide Chetan Gour.
On December 19 early morning, the two teams conducted raid at the two premises of the accused. One is situated in Shahpura area and the other in Arera Colony area. During the raid other than valuables, the sleuths have found two boxes in which broken locks which is more than 500 were found.
Earlier, the sleuths were not having any idea about the locks, but when they examined them, they found that the locks are not opened but were cut into two pieces.
‘Later we came to know that the bags in which the money is been brought to the house were locked with the locks and to avoid any counting disparities’, one of the officers on condition of anonymity said. It is further informed that along with the bag, no keys are sent.
The locks are opened with the help of a cutter. When the police have conducted the raid, they had found the cash filled bags, which supports the theory that the money was brought in the bags.
From Monday, Lokayukta officials will contact bank officials to get details of lockers and bank transactions. The police will try to find out the sources of money and where the money was spent and invested.
Two almirahs and two laptops ………
In a room where Chetan and his family lives, the sleuths have found an almirah filled with documents and two laptops. The officials are still counting and calculating property papers found in two almirahs. It is claimed that in most of land-related documents, they are prepared on the names who are not known to the police.
It is claimed that most of the property is ‘Benami’. Whereas, property and other details will come out after exploration of two laptops. The laptops must be having full details of transactions done by Sourabh and Chetan.
The dairies
These dairies will also open a new window of information in the near future. The dairies are having details of financial transactions and they are in lakhs, ‘Like 80 sent, 50 came’.
