When is Masik Shivratri in January?
According to the Panchang, Krishna Chaturdashi of Magh month will start on 27 January 2025 at 08:34 AM and will end on 28 January at 07:35 PM. Thus, monthly Shivratri fast will be observed on 27th January.

- bathing and dressing: Wear clean clothes after taking bath.
- puja preparation: Worship all the Gods and Goddesses including Shiva family duly.
- vow to fast: If you have to keep a fast, then take a pledge to fast with holy water, flowers and Akshat.
- lighting a lamp: Light a lamp in the home temple at dusk in the evening.
- Coronation: Consecrate Lord Shiva in the Shiva temple or at home and perform the ritual worship of the Shiva family.
- listen to story: Listen to the story of the fast.
- Hindu ritual of worship: Perform Aarti of Lord Shiva with full devotion with ghee lamp.
- mantra chanting: Finally, chant the mantra “Om Namah Shivay” and pray for forgiveness.
