The states where IMD has predicted more than normal rainfall include Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Marathwada, West Bengal and Telangana. The monsoon usually enters Kerala around 1 June and gradually moves to the north, east and west. After this, the monsoon comes in the entire country between 15-25 June. After the four -month season, the monsoon returns from the late September to mid -October.
Rain will be reduced in these states
However, some states may receive less rainfall. IMD officials said that there is no possibility of developing the condition of El Nino during the monsoon. Mahapatra said that most of the geographical areas of the country are expected to receive more than normal or normal rainfall. However, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Tripura, parts of Bihar and Ladakh may receive less than normal rainfall. IMD publishes LRF i.e. long -term average in two phases at the end of April and May every year. The second forecast will be released in late May, before the arrival of the monsoon in Kerala.
Why will there be more rainfall than normal?
If the forecast of IMD is proved correct, the 2025 monsoon season will be the 10th consecutive year, when India will record more than normal or normal during the main June-September monsoon season. IMD Director General M. Mahapatra said that Northern Hemisphere and Eurasia received less snowfall during January-March. It has an opposite relationship with monsoon. In such a situation, this is a favorable situation for good rains during the monsoon this year. It was also said that the monsoon is also affected by El Nino and the Indian Ocean Dipol (IOD).
