Mohini Ekadashi: According to the Hindu calendar, Mohini Ekadashi fast is kept on the Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Vaishakh month. This year the fast of Mohini Ekadashi will be observed on 8 May. On the day of Mohini Ekadashi, first wake up early in the morning and retire from bathing etc. and sit in front of God and resolve to fast. Offer sesame to God. Then light a lamp and install a urn. On this day, God took a siren form for the welfare of the gods. That is why it is called Mohini Ekadashi. This year Ekadashi date will start on 7 May 2025 at 10.19 am and the next day will be till 12.29 pm.

 

Benefits of Harivasar Ekadashi fast

Ekadashi fast should not be observed in Harivasar. Regarding the attainment of children in Harivasar, it is said in Skanda Purana that a fast of Harivasar i.e. Ekadashi and Baras should be kept. It is said that fasting, penance and pilgrimage do not get any fruit. It is said in the Padam Purana that a person who voluntarily or reluctantly fasts Ekadashi is freed from all sins and attains Param Dham, Vaikuntha Dham.

 

What will you donate on Ekadashi?

This is the Ekadashi of the month of Vaishakh. Therefore, in these eleven days, water, clothes and grains like lentils, rice and flour should be donated. Apart from this, fans and pots can also be donated. To donate, first offer everything to God and then donate Ekadashi to the poor. On this day, Tulsi should be worshiped by lighting a lamp.
