In 2019, a Malayalam film titled Lucifer starring Mohanlal was released in theatres. The movie was directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, and it was a super hit at the box office. While it was dubbed and released in multiple languages, the film just did well in Malayalam. The makers had announced the sequel titled L2 Empuraan, but now, finally after five years of Lucifer, fans will get to witness the part two on the big screens.
Like the first instalment, L2 Empuraan will also be dubbed and released in various languages including Hindi. Mohanlal and Prithviraj flew down to Mumbai to launch the Hindi trailer of the film, and megastar Amitabh Bachchan took to X to share the trailer. He posted, “My best wishes 7 days to go! #L2E #EMPURAAN In theatres worldwide from 27/03/25 #March27.”
The trailer of the movie (Hindi) is quite interesting and keeps you hooked for those 3 minutes 50 seconds. It promises to be grander than Lucifer and have more political twists and turns along with some high-octance action seuqnces.
Of course, Mohanlal’s entry is the highlight of the trailer, but even the scenes featuring the veteran actor along with Prithviraj grab our attention. Apart from these two actors, L2 Empuraan also features Tovino Thomas, Abhimanyu Singh, Andrea Tivadar, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Indrajith Sukumaran, and Manju Warrier.
L2 Empuraan is all set to release on March 27, 2025. While it is pre-Eid release, the film in Hindi for sure will face a tough competition with Salman Khan starrer Sikandar which is slated to hit the big screens on March 30, 2025. Lucifer had not created any buzz in the Hindi market, so let’s wait and watch what response L2 Empuraan will get. Till now, not many Malayalam films have done well in the Hindi belt.
