Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that Modi will fulfill his promises made to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and the right things will happen at the right time. Modi was addressing a public meeting after inaugurating the strategically important 6.4 km long Z Mode Tunnel.
Prime Minister Modi made the remarks when Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, during his speech at the ceremony, demanded restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
Without mentioning the demand for giving statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, the Prime Minister said that you have to believe that this is Modi and he fulfills his promises. There is a right time for everything, right things will happen at the right time.
The Prime Minister further said that Jammu and Kashmir is the crown of the country and he wants it to be prosperous and beautiful. He said that there is an atmosphere of peace in Jammu and Kashmir and its effect is being seen on tourism. Kashmir is writing a new story of development today.
He said that Kashmir valley will soon be connected by railways. And people are excited about it. Modi had paid tribute to those killed in the terrorist attack near the Z Mode tunnel in October last year.
Rs 2716.90 crore has been spent on the construction of this tunnel. After inaugurating the tunnel, Prime Minister Modi went inside it and talked to the officials and workers associated with the project.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah were also present along with Prime Minister Modi during the inauguration.
