‘Operation Abhyas’: Mock Drills To Take Place In Navi Mumbai On May 13; Know Locations, Timings | ANI
Navi Mumbai: According to the directives from the Ministry of Home Affairs, a simulation mock drill named “Operation Abhyas” is being conducted to evaluate emergency readiness in Thane district. This exercise is scheduled for Neelsiddhi Towers, Wings A and B, close to the NMMT Terminus, Plot No. 95, Sector 12, Vashi, Navi Mumbai, on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at 4:00 PM.
In line with instructions from the Ministry of Home Affairs, a simulation exercise called “Operation Abhyas” is taking place to assess emergency preparedness in Thane district. The mock drill is taking place under the supervision of Thane District Collector and Civil Defence Controller Ashok Shingare, Navi Mumbai Municipal Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde, Additional District Collector Harishchandra Patil, Resident Deputy Collector Dr. Sandeep Mane, Additional Commissioner Sunil Pawar, Sub-Divisional Officer Urmila Patil, City Engineer and Chief Fire Officer Shirish Ardavad, along with Deputy Controller of Civil Defence Vijay Jadhav. Tehsildar Umesh Patil is coordinating the event.
A siren will be sounded during the drill to indicate the beginning of a simulated bomb attack or air strike. Directions will subsequently be provided to lead citizens to secure areas in a systematic and tranquil way. Rescue teams will conduct search missions in the impacted region to find and evacuate any injured or trapped persons and offer them prompt first aid.
All departments participating are anticipated to approach this drill earnestly and adhere strictly to the Ministry’s instructions to guarantee the successful execution of the exercise. When the siren sounds at 4:00 PM, the public is urged to remain calm, refrain from believing or sharing rumors, avoid taking photos, and to carefully adhere to instructions given by authorities. This mock drill is a component of training for preparedness and must not be confused with a real emergency.
