After winning the Kasba Assembly constituency, newly elected MLA Hemant Rasane is putting efforts to make the Kasba Constituency garbage-free.
MLA Rasane, along with Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) officials, conducted a site inspection in the constituency. During the visit, chronic garbage spots were identified that were causing unhygienic conditions and spreading foul odors. Immediate measures were suggested to the administration to address these issues.
Under the jurisdiction of Bhawani Peth Regional Office, chronic garbage spots in Tadi Gutta, Ganjpeth, and Chandtara Chowk in Guruwar Peth have been closed.
Locals hail Rasane
Rasane expressed that the area has been made garbage-free, and waste from households and shops is now being segregated and collected twice daily (morning and evening) by PMC staff and employees of the Swachh Seva Cooperative Society. With the removal of garbage heaps, residents are now able to breathe freely. The swift action by the municipal corporation, following MLA Rasane’s inspection, has been appreciated by locals.
“Our commitment is to implement the Garbage-Free Kasba Campaign. After conducting inspections last week, the civic body has taken proactive steps by closing several chronic garbage spots and starting twice-daily cleaning drives. With the help of citizens, we are dedicated to creating a clean, beautiful, and healthy Kasba. In the coming days, we will also address garbage issues in other parts of the constituency,” Rasane added.
