Mitchell Starc is pumped. | (Credits: Screengrab)

Australia’s pace spearhead Mitchell Starc got their side off to a dream start as he trapped Yashasvi Jaiswal lbw off the first ball of the innings on day one of the second Test at the Adelaide Oval. The left-arm speedster was inevitably pumped, especially after Jaiswal sledged him during the previous Test in Perth, calling him too slow.

With Starc possessing an envious record in pink-ball Tests, he took the brand-new ball and gained immediate swing as he pitched it up. With the southpaw looking to glance it to fine leg, he missed it completely and the umpire had not hesitation in raising the finger. Jaiswal consulted KL Rahul at the non-striker’s end before walking away.

Below is the video of the wicket ball:

Jaiswal had also perished for a duck in the first innings in Perth, but bounced back with a classy 161 in the second. It helped the tourists set up an improbable 534-run target to Australia and eventually romp to a 295-run victory to take a 1-0 lead.

India and Australia’s playing XI for the pink-ball Test:

Australia (Playing XI): Usman Khawaja, Nathan McSweeney, Marnus Labuschagne, Steven Smith, Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh, Alex Carey(w), Pat Cummins(c), Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, Scott Boland

India (Playing XI): Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant(w), Rohit Sharma(c), Nitish Reddy, Ravichandran Ashwin, Harshit Rana, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj.
