Bareilly: Panic gripped the Nawabganj area of Bareilly after unidentified miscreants hurled a petrol bomb outside a restaurant late Tuesday (March 18) night. The shocking incident was captured on CCTV, showing the attackers fleeing the scene.

According to reports, the restaurant owner and employees were left shaken by the sudden attack. However, local police allegedly suppressed the incident for nearly two hours before initiating an investigation.

Following a complaint by the restaurant owner, police launched a probe to identify and track down the culprits. The footage from CCTV cameras is also being examined for leads.

Confirming the action, the Bareilly Police took to X (formerly Twitter) from its official handle and stated, “Inspector in-charge Nawabganj, Bareilly has been directed to investigate the matter and take necessary legal action.”

The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and authorities are looking into possible reasons, including personal enmity or extortion threats. The police have assured that strict action will be taken against those responsible.
