Pune Weather Update: Minimum Temperature Falls Below Lonavala, Matheran | Representative Image

The minimum temperature in Pune on Friday dipped below that of hill stations like Lonavala and Matheran, prompting Punekars to don sweaters and jackets. According to the data shared on X (formerly Twitter) by KS Hosalikar, head of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Pune, the minimum temperature in Pune’s Shivajinagar on Friday was 9.5 degrees Celsius, compared to 17.7 degrees Celsius in Lonavala and 14 degrees Celsius in Matheran.

The IMD has attributed the dip in temperature to the presence of north and north-western winds and clear sky conditions, which have accelerated the cooling of the earth’s surface.

The IMD also said Pune’s current temperature pattern will continue for the next few days. While daytime temperatures have remained higher, rapid cooling at night has intensified the chill factor.
