Dehradun, 09 December (HS). Good news has come for the devotees and tourists who have been waiting for a long time, as snowfall has started in Kedarnath and Badrinath Dham recently. This snowfall has not only brought coolness in the weather but also has affected the reconstruction work in the Dhams. At the same time, crowds of tourists have started gathering at these places and there is hope among the local businessmen.
The first snowfall of the season in Chopta and Dugalbitta, known as Mini Switzerland, has attracted tourists. After snowfall, the green bushes of Chopta are wrapped in white sheets. Tourists have started coming here, due to which there is a wave of happiness among the local traders. They are expecting that more number of tourists will come this season. Snowfall at these tourist places has not only increased the enthusiasm of tourists but can also increase local employment.
Impact on reconstruction works in Kedarnath
Light snowfall started in Kedarnath Dham from Sunday night, due to which the cold has increased in the Dham. Reconstruction work here has come to a halt due to snowfall. About two inches of snow has accumulated in the Dham, due to which more than a hundred laborers who were engaged in reconstruction work are facing cold. The workers are now waiting for the snowfall to stop so that they can resume their work. Water is being used by melting snow as the temperature drops to minus degrees at night.
Effect of snowfall in Badrinath Dham also
Badrinath Dham also received light snowfall in the late evening of 8th December due to which the weather has increased coldness. After the end of the Yatra season in November, snowfall was awaited in Dham, because the weather without snowfall was not considered favorable for health. But now the snowfall has made the environment of the Dhams favourable. Dr. Harish Gaur, media in-charge of Badrinath and Kedarnath Temple Committee, said that there is up to 5 cm of snow in the Dhams and volunteers of the Temple Committee are deployed for security.
Light snowfall in Triyuginarayan, local people happy
Kedarnath valley and Triyuginarayan are also receiving light snowfall, due to which the people here are happy. Snowfall has also infused new energy into the crops and the weather has become favourable. This snowfall not only brings a change in weather for Kedarnath, Badrinath and surrounding areas, but is also expected to have a positive impact on the tourism and agriculture sectors.
