American Immigration News: President Donald Trump has taken several tough steps, including deportation of thousands of illegal immigrants. At such a time, more than 1.34 lakh Indians, who have entered the US legally as children of H-1B visa holders, have been in crisis due to change in visa policy. Trump ended the provision of dependent for H-1B visa holders when he came to power, posed a danger of separation from his parents in front of millions of Indians. Additionally, due to changes in visa policy, dependent children will no longer have two years to change their visa status, which may threaten them from the United States.

President Donald Trump has launched the biggest campaign against illegal immigrants in the US, under which he has expelled thousands of people from the US. Additionally, more soldiers have been deployed on the Mexico border. Trump’s strict steps have led to a significant decrease in the infiltration of illegal immigrants in the United States. Now, due to the US’s changed visa policy, millions of Indians who have legally entered the US legally as a minor are in danger of exile.

There are more than one lakh Indians in the US who reached the US legally as children or minors. Such people got an opportunity to live in America on H-4 visa. Additionally, if children of H-1B visa holders are born in the United States, they automatically get American citizenship. But Trump ended the provision that gave American citizenship to the children of foreign parents as soon as he came to power. As a result, these people who entered the US as a minor or whose parents are foreign nationals cannot be declared a dependent children of their H-1B visa holder parents after the age of 21.

Earlier these people used to get two years to change their visa status. But due to changes in visa policies, their future has become bleak, due to which many people are preparing to migrate to countries like Canada and Britain. Immigration policies in these countries are a bit soft. The US Citizenship and Immigration Services Department recently announced the registration period for H-1B visa. This process will run from 7 March to 24 March. According to a report, more than 1.34 lakh Indian children in the US have lost their dependent visa status, while their families could get a green card after the age of 21.

The pending burden of green card applications in the US immigration system is so long that some applications may take from 12 years to 100 years. Under such circumstances, a Texas court has further complicated the situation by banning the work permit for new applicants under the DACA program, who entered the US as children. Under the DACA program, applicants were given two years to temporarily replace their visa status to avoid exile from the United States. However, now the future of millions of Indians is in danger due to lack of this program.
