Singer Mika Singh co-produced the web series Dangerous, released in 2020, starring Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover in the lead. Years after the release, he has recently called out the couple for creating ‘drama’ on set while filming in London and extending a three-month shoot to six months, leading to a significant waste of money.
Speaking on the podcast, KADAK, Mika revealed that he initially wanted to cast Karan and a newcomer in the series to keep it within budget, but Bipasha judged in. “She was like, ‘We can both be part of this series.’ They did come in the budget only, but the experience was horrible,” he added.
Further, Mika shared that Bipasha and Karan created a lot of drama. Despite being married, they demanded to stay in different rooms, while Mika agreed to their request, he found the situation strange.
He added, “Later, when we were shooting for a stunt scene, Karan Singh Grover fractured his leg. They even created issues while dubbing the film. They were giving excuses that they have sore throat and other things. I couldn’t understand the drama, especially when they were paid for their work.”
Not just that, Bipasha and Karan even refused to do a kissing scene despiting signing the contract that mentioned the kissing scene. He said that being husband and wife, they created drama about kissing each other on-screen.
“These stars fall on the feet of big producers like Dharma Productions and Yash Raj Films and keep praising them for even te tiniest roles, but their attitude changes when it comes to smaller producers. Aren’t these producers also spending money?,” added Mika.
Regretting his experience, Mika said drama and challenges led him to give up on producing and would advise others to not produce as well. The singer revealed that Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar once advised him against producing films, advice he regrets not taking.
