Mumbai: A hunt is on for two persons who allegedly duped vehicle owners on the pretext of renting out their cars, said the MIDC police, adding that they have recovered four automobiles worth Rs 24 lakh.

Harsh Sharma, the main accused, and his accomplice lured the aggrieved by offering them attractive returns. However, they neither paid the rental nor returned the vehicles. In the past too, Sharma had committed similar fraud, amounting to Rs 50 to Rs 60 lakh, by mortgaging 40 to 50 cars, said the police.

In the latest case, two cars were recovered from a garage, while two others were found in UP and Karnataka.
