Mumbai: In an effort to ensure the prompt and fair resolution of citizen grievances, the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Housing and Area Development Board of ‘MHADA’ organized its first-ever Janata Darbar (Public Hearing Day) on Friday.

Modeled after the Lokshahi Din (Democracy Day), which is regularly held at MHADA’s headquarters, this initiative received an overwhelming response. A total of 60 applicants’ grievances were addressed under the chairmanship of the Board’s Chief Officer Kishor Kumar Katwate.

During the four-hour-long Janata Darbar hearing, most citizens submitted applications requesting the waiver of penalties imposed on lease renewal agreements. Katwate carefully heard all applicants and directed the concerned departmental officers to take appropriate action in the course of law on their grievances.

To enhance the quality of daily life for citizens, the Maharashtra Government has implemented a 100-day action plan following directives from Chief Minister Mr. Devendra Fadnavis and instructions from Deputy Chief Minister and Housing Minister Mr. Eknath Shinde.

As part of this, MHADA’s Vice President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Sanjeev Jaiswal, instructed all regional boards of to organize Janata Din (Public Hearing Days) for the effective implementation of the “Grievance Redressal” component of the seven-point action plan. Acting on this directive and under his guidance, the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Board successfully conducted its first Janata Darbar day.
