JSW MG Motor India’s luxury brand, MG Select, has teased the upcoming MG Cyberster, the world’s fastest MG roadster, featuring India’s first-ever electric scissor doors. The Cyberster, inspired by the iconic 1960s MG B Roadster, combines classic design with cutting-edge technology. This futuristic roadster offers a perfect blend of high performance, luxury, and engineering excellence, setting a new standard for electric vehicles.

The MG Cyberster boasts a striking design with sharp, sweptback headlights and a contoured bumper with a splitter. Its scissor doors and folding soft-top roof, which is neatly concealed behind roll bars when not in use, add to its modern appeal. The rear of the car features arrow-shaped LED taillights and a connected LED light bar across the boot, while the aggressive split diffuser enhances its sporty, performance-driven look.

This roadster will be the first model available through MG Select, the brand’s new luxury retail network. Underpinned by a 77 kWh battery, the dual-motor version generates 528 bhp and 725 Nm of torque, achieving 0-100 kmph in just 3.2 seconds and offering a range of 580 km on a single charge. An affordable single-motor variant may also be introduced for the Indian market.

Inside, the cabin is adorned with luxurious sand-brown leather-suede finishes, and the central unit seamlessly integrates both the infotainment display and digital instrument cluster. The flat-bottomed steering wheel, now featuring aluminium spokes, paddle shifters, and buttons, replaces the original yoke-style wheel. The console includes conventional buttons and gear selector controls, blending futuristic design with practicality. MG Select also plans to open 12 exclusive luxury showrooms across India by 2026, alongside four premium car launches.

In October, MG Motors introduced the MG Windsor EV, expanding its electric vehicle portfolio in India. With the MG Comet EV and ZS EV already available in the market, this move highlights MG’s strong commitment and ambitious plans for the electric segment in India.
