JSW MG Motor India’s luxury brand channel, MG SELECT, has added another milestone to the company’s legacy with the MG Cyberster. The high-performance electric roadster set a new record at Rajasthan’s Sambhar Salt Lake, achieving the fastest 0-100 kmph acceleration in just 3.2 seconds. This marks the first-ever record of its kind at the salt flats in India. The achievement has been officially recognized by the Asia Book of Records and the India Book of Records.

Set by Mira Erda, the first Indian female racer to win internationally in Formula 4, the record adds to MG’s long-standing tradition of speed and innovation. MG’s history of record-breaking runs dates back to 1931 when the ‘Magic Midget’ became the first 750cc car to surpass 100 mph, achieving a speed of 165.96 kmph. In 1957, the MG EX181, based on the MG A, recorded a top speed of 395.22 kmph at the Bonneville Salt Flats with a 1489cc engine. Two years later, an upgraded version of the EX181 with a 1506cc supercharged twin-cam engine set another record, reaching 410.17 kmph at the same venue.
