MG Motor India is gearing up to launch the Cyberster, its first all-electric sports car, in January 2025. The Cyberster, showcased in India earlier this year in March, is expected to debut at the Bharat Mobility Expo. Initially revealed as a concept in 2021, the production version made its global debut at Auto Shanghai in April 2023. Touted as the world’s fastest roadster, the Cyberster is set to redefine the electric sports car segment in India.
The MG Cyberster features a dynamic design with sharp, sweptback headlights and a contoured bumper with a splitter. It is equipped with scissor doors and a folding soft-top roof, which is concealed behind roll bars when not in use. At the rear, the car showcases arrow-shaped LED taillights and a connected LED light bar across the boot. Below, the aggressive split diffuser setup adds to the car’s sporty and performance-oriented appearance.

The MG Cyberster will be the first model to be sold under the brand’s new premium retail network, MG Select. Powered by a 77 kWh battery pack, the dual-motor version produces 528 bhp and 725 Nm of torque, enabling it to accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 3.2 seconds, with a range of 580 km on a single charge. A single-motor variant, which offers a more affordable starting price, may also be introduced in India.

Inside, the cabin features a luxurious sand-brown leather-suede treatment, with a central unit integrating the infotainment display and digital instrument cluster. The flat-bottomed steering wheel, now with aluminium spokes, paddle shifters, and buttons, replaces the original yoke-style wheel from the concept. The console houses conventional buttons and gear selector controls, completing the futuristic yet functional design.
MG Select plans to open 12 exclusive luxury showrooms in 12 cities across India, with four premium car launches scheduled by 2026.
