Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Members of Hindu outfits were spotted locking the doors of parks in Jabalpur to protest Valentine’s Day celebrations on Friday.

Members of saffron organisations like the Hindu Vishwa Parishad and Bajrang Dal locked the main gates of the city parks and gardens to prohibit entry of the couples. They have alleged Hindu girls are falling victim to ‘love jihad.’

The visuals show the members of Hindu outfits putting a lock on the main gate of a park. They then sat outside and staged protests, raising slogans, “Dharm ki raksha kaun karega… Hum Karenge, Hum Karenge. Desh ki raksha kaun karega…hum karenge, hum karenge!” (Who will protect the religion? We will! Who will protect our country? We will!)

Fearing attacks by Hindu outfits like the Bajrang Dal and Hindu Vishwa Parishad, several unmarried couples chose low-key indoor celebrations. Public spots like gardens, parks, and Chowpatty remained deserted on the occasion of Valentine’s.

Atul Jaiswani, State President of the Hindu Seva Parishad, said, “Hindu Seva Parishad has always been dedicated and proactive for women’s protection. If we spot any inter-religion couple where we sense it is a matter of love jihad or spot any couple involved in obscenity at public places, we will teach them a lesson.”
