Main objective of travel
The purpose of this four -day visit is to promote diplomatic, economic and strategic relations between the two countries. He is accompanied by a high -level delegation of several ministers, senior officials and representatives of major business houses. Minister Kirti Vardhan Singh also shared a welcome message on his social media handle and said, “I am happy to welcome Angola President Joao Manuel Gonkalvase Laureranko on a state visit to India.” This important meeting is being held on the occasion of 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Angola. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, it is the first visit of the President of Angola to India after 1986.
Importance of bilateral talks
President Lauranko will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Draupadi Murmu separately. He was formally welcomed in the premises of Rashtrapati Bhavan. This will be followed by bilateral talks with President Murmu. He also held delegation level talks with Prime Minister Modi. The Ministry of External Affairs said in an official statement, “Several compromise memorandum and agreements are expected to be signed during the visit, which will promote bilateral relations.”
Promoting commercial relations
President Laurancco will participate in a business program in New Delhi that aims to promote trade, investment and commercial relations between the two countries. In this event, major stakeholders of areas like oil, gas, infrastructure, agriculture and mining are expected to come together.
