Measures to slow down the process of aging

As our age increases, there are many changes in the body. This process starts in the mother’s womb and continues throughout the lifetime. Most people wait the most for the time of youth, because in this stage the body is the most healthy and powerful. However, after this, old age is also certain to come, which humans are doing continuous research to avoid.

A recently published study has proved that omega-3 fatty acids can slow down the physical aging process, especially when it is combined with vitamin D and regular exercise.

A study on aging

In this study conducted in Switzerland, 777 elders were tracked for three years. They were divided into three groups: One group was given omega-3 supplements, the other was asked to exercise vitamin D, and the third to exercise at home. Researchers tried to measure how different a person’s biological age is from the date of his actual birth.

Effect of omega-3

The study found that consuming omega-3 fatty acids saw a slow pace of about three months in biological age. When it was paired with vitamin D and exercise, the effect further increased, and a slow pace of four months was observed in biological age.

Reduction in risk of cancer and other diseases

This research also shows that following omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin D and active lifestyle led to a reduction in cancer risk, 10% decrease in falling rate and 13% in infections.

Opinion of experts

This study makes it clear that consumption of omega-3 fatty acids can slow down organic age and can also provide other health benefits. Omega-3 fatty acids are mainly found in fish, c-food, flaxseed oil and walnuts. Experts suggest that on an average 1 gram of omega-3 fatty acids should be consumed daily.
