Mandsaur (Madhya Pradesh): The Narcotics Wing has seized MD drugs worth ₹2.20 crore from the house of a former sarpanch in Mandsaur on Sunday.

The drugs were seized from the Aakya Kunwarpad village. The former sarpanch was running an illegal MD drug manufacturing unit at his home. However, he escaped before the police raid.

On Saturday night, the Narcotics Wing arrested two suspects, Balu Singh Panwar (46) from Suwasara and Kamlesh Prajapat (34) from Dhabla Deval, on Neemuch Bypass Road.

The police found 800 grams of MD drugs with them. During interrogation, the two revealed that the former sarpanch was making MD drugs at his house.

Based on this information, the police raided the house of former sarpanch Dinesh Mohel.

But by the time they arrived, he had already escaped. The police searched the area and found drug-making equipment and prepared MD drugs near a water tank.

A total of 1.1 kg of MD drugs were seized, valued at around ₹2.20 crore.

The police have registered a case under the NDPS Act and are searching for the former sarpanch.

SP Suraj Verma of the Narcotics Wing praised the police team for their efforts and announced that the officers involved in the raid would be rewarded.
