Budding Cricketers from Cricket Lovers Global (CLG) Academy spent the afternoon at Oval Maidaan with the legendary cricket coach Jwala Singh from Mumbai Cricket Club (MCC).
U12 cricket team from Essex, UK are currently on their nine-day tour of Mumbai playing matches against premier local clubs. As part of their pre-season tour, the team are accompanied by their parents and in some cases even grand parents comprising of a 45 individuals.
“CLG Co-founders Piyush Somaiya and Rahul Vyas wanted their kids to gain exposure to playing in the sub continent at an early age and hence decided to organise this tour for them and will be brining more and more teams from UK in the coming years,” a release said.
During the session with Jwala Singh, the kids spent time learning about not only physical skills but also how to enhance their mental strength.
During the nets, the kids learnt about playing against spin bowling – a skills that is vital to play in this part of the world.
Jwala Singh also spent time showing them some vital bowling and batting drills.
Boys and girls got some really valuable tips from him which they look to put into practice in the coming days.
