The central crime unit (CCU) attached to the Mira Bhayandar-Vasai Virar (MBVV) police have arrested two members owing their allegiance to the notorious Bol-Bachchan (glib talkers) gang. The duo identified as-Bhanabhai Dhanaji Marwari (45) and Gopi Bhai Rajubhai Marwadi (23) were arrested from Ahmedabad in Gujarat on Thursday. The accused had targeted a 60-year-old woman and relieved her of gold ornaments worth Rs.80,000 near the Bhayandar railway station on 4, February.
The CCU led by API-Prashant Gangurde under the guidance of police inspector-Aviraj Kurhade scanned footage captured by closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras installed at the crime spot and possible getaway routes and got hazy clues about the identity of the accused.

On the virtue of electronic surveillance and inputs provided by informers, the team learnt about the duo’s presence in Gujarat. A team immediately left for Gujarat and arrested the duo from the Sardar Nagar area of Ahmedabad with the help of their local counterparts.
Investigations revealed their involvement in ten similar offences committed by them in Bhayandar,Ghatkopar, Dahisar Matunga, Wadala, Ulhasnagar, Kalwa and Kalyan. The duo who worked as casual labourers in Ahmedabad would come to the city by train and return after committing the crime on the same day to dodge arrest by the police.
Meanwhile an offence under sections 318(2) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) for cheating and common intention has been registered at the Navghar police station in Bhayandar (east) against the duo who have been remanded to custody. Further investigations were underway.
Members of various Bol Bachchan gangs-mostly based out of the city and state have wreaked havoc in the region. The CCU had busted an Uttarakhand-based Bol Bachchan (glib talkers) in the first week of February, this year.
